The Wonder Around Us: Environment

Have you ever thought that the air, water, soil, and trees around us together create a wonder? That is the environment. Simply put, the environment is the combination of living and non-living things around us.

Every living being survives only in its own environment. An interesting fact is that the English word “Environment” comes from the French word “Environ,” which means “to surround.”

The natural environment is the one formed on Earth without any human intervention, as a result of favourable natural climatic conditions. It can be divided into four main parts: Lithosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, and Biosphere.

Garbage is piling up… Where is the solution?
Garbage is piling up… Where is the solution?

The land we live on is the Lithosphere, the life-supporting water belongs to the Hydrosphere, the air we breathe is the Atmosphere (a combination of five layers – Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Exosphere), and all living beings together make the Biosphere.

These four do not function separately. Instead, they work together to create suitable conditions for life on Earth. This is the greatest coordination process in nature.

But our actions are changing this. How much are we protecting this balance? And if this delicate balance is ever disturbed, what will happen? The question stands before us… and the answer lies in our actions.
